Overview:

Pittosporum tobira (Thunb.) Ait., also known as Pittosporum tobira, mountain alum, Qilixiang, and Baozhuxiang, is a plant of the genus Pittosporum in the family Pittosporum. Volatile aromatic compounds such as citral, ethyl acetoacetate, and butanol in its branches and leaves have strong air purification functions; the plant can also absorb heavy metal Zn and photochemical smog, making it a good anti-pollution tree species. Its roots can dispel wind, activate collaterals, dissipate blood stasis and relieve pain, the leaves can detoxify and stop bleeding, and the seeds can astringent intestines, solidify essence, etc.; the plant extract has certain curative effects on obesity and diabetes. Studies have further separated the ethyl acetate extract of the ethanol extract of Pittosporum foliage dry powder, and isolated Erythrodiol (also known as coca diol) for the first time, and found that it has high herbicidal activity for the first time.
